In the summer of 2023, Godlisten Mbise, a teacher in Arusha, Tanzania, shared those exact words with Sara, our Founder, after they witnessed two children collide and fall at school, with no supplies available to stop the bleeding. Sara offered her own pocket first-aid kit to help, but Godlisten said that if we were to give first aid to one school, we would need to give first aid to all schools.

What should have been a minor injury revealed a much larger problem. Across most schools, basic first-aid supplies are unavailable, leaving children vulnerable to preventable infections and complications. That moment became the catalyst for JumboCare: an organization founded on the belief that no child’s health should depend on whether or not first aid is available, especially when needed most.

Motivated by her background in biochemistry, global health, child care, and clinical care, Sara began researching sustainable ways to address this gap. What started as a single observation grew into a structured initiative focused on equipping schools with essential first-aid supplies and clear instructions for their use - resulting in an effective single solution to be provided by JumboCare.
